Yesterday IPL Match: Gujarat Titans (GT) will face Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 17 in Ahmedabad. It proved to be a very low-scoring affair, with GT getting out for their lowest ever score in the IPL.

Yesterday IPL match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill congratulated his counterpart, Delhi Capitals’ Rishabh Pant after his game. It was a Twenty20 cricket match between the two teams and Delhi Capitals emerged victorious.

Yesterday IPL Match: On 17th April, Gujarat Titans (GT) faced Delhi Capitals (DC) at their home ground. Delhi, who had won two out of six matches before this game, won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill scored 8 runs in 6 balls before being dismissed by the experienced Ishant Sharma. Wriddhiman Saha was the next player to be out after his bat accidentally hit the stump off Mukesh Kumar’s ball. Then Sai Sudarshan was run out due to a direct hit from Sumit Kumar. Suddenly, GT found themselves at 28/3 in the 5th over.

Ishant Sharma took another wicket in the same over by sending David Miller to the pavilion. After a brief lull, Delhi Capitals took another wicket, this time Abhinav Manohar became the victim of bowler Tristan Stubbs. To make matters worse for Gujarat Titans, Stubbs dismissed impact player Shahrukh Khan for a golden duck in the same over. This left Gujarat struggling at 48/6 in just the 9th over.

Rahul Tewatia tried to handle the innings and scored 10 runs in 14 balls. Unfortunately, Axar Patel dismissed him on the very next ball. The only Gujarat Titans player who showed some resilience was Rashid Khan. However, he was eventually dismissed by Mukesh Kumar after scoring 31 runs off 24 balls. Mohit Sharma could score only 2 runs in 14 balls before getting out. After this Mukesh Kumar took the wicket of Noor Ahmed, after which Delhi Capitals successfully bowled out Gujarat Titans on a total score of 89 runs.

Contrary to what some people expected, the pitch did not pose any major challenges. Delhi Capitals, chasing the target, had a solid start and reached 25/1 in just 2 overs. However, their momentum suffered a blow when Jake Fraser-McGurk was dismissed by Spencer Johnson after scoring a quickfire 20 off 10 balls. Prithvi Shaw also got out early after scoring 7 runs in 6 balls.

Abhishek Porel, who was named as the Impact Player, maintained the pace started by Jake. He scored 15 runs in just 7 balls before being dismissed by Johnson. After this, Shai Hope played a fast innings and contributed 19 runs on 10 balls, while Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten on 16 runs on 11 balls. His efforts gave Delhi Capitals an easy win by 6 wickets in the 9th over.

Rishabh Pant had performed brilliantly in the low-scoring IPL match. He not only scored 16 runs in 11 balls, but also took two catches and made two stumpings. His excellent performance in all aspects of the game earned him the Player of the Match award.
